The Brothers of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Maryland Beta chapter, would like to welcome you to the University of Maryland and to our web site. At Maryland Beta, we strive to uphold the principles of The True Gentleman, along with scholarship, brotherhood and service that our eight founding fathers established (over 162 years ago) as the mortar that holds our organization together.

We are entering the 2018-2019 academic year. This looks to be an important year for us, as we strive to continue making progress after being awarded the William E. Kirwan Most Improved Chapter from the University of Maryland in May. Our E-Board and Chapter Adviser have been in communication throughout the summer to ensure plans are finalized for the upcoming Fall semester. With seven new executive officers, it will be exciting to see what we can collaboratively accomplish.

We begin the Fall semester with 36 returning collegiate members after graduating 11 members in the May 2018 Commencement (Alexander Anderson, Matthew Brennan, Anthony Ferraro, Mohil Gupta, Joseph Malandruccolo IV, Andy Miller, James Psoras, Matthew Schaney, Michael Schraibman, Azariah Selassie, and Jon Spadafino) and one member transferred. Our Recruitment Committee was actively engaged in delivering an exceptional series of events for recruitment this Fall, which began on August 29 and ended on September 14. New Member Initiation was held on Sunday, September 16, where we welcomed six new members (Nick Daeschner, Jeremy Page, Kevin Senkus, Yashu Sharma, Jim Staines and Patrick Yi).

We pride ourselves in being an integral part of both the University of Maryland community as well as the surrounding College Park community. Here at the Maryland Beta chapter, we emphasize academic success and community service to all of our members, as we hold all members to the standard of a True Gentleman. There are many great efforts going on at Maryland Beta and the future is bright. If you are interested in learning more or joining the Maryland Beta chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, feel free to email me at Antony DiDonato (click to e-mail) to learn about our year-long recruitment process and our upcoming recruitment events. We also welcome and urge any and all alumni to make time to join us at our weekly chapter meetings. All of our collegiate members always enjoy having alumni visit, and learning how to better the chapter from alumni. For those who are in the area, our doors are always open to collegiate brothers and alumni alike who would like to join us.

Phi Alpha!
