The Brothers of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Maryland Beta chapter, would like to welcome you to the University of Maryland and to our web site. At Maryland Beta, we strive to uphold the principles of The True Gentleman, along with scholarship, brotherhood and service that our eight founding fathers established (nearly 162 years ago) as the mortar that holds our organization together.
We are now in the second half of the 2017-2018 academic year. Our E-Board and Chapter Adviser held a 2-hour Skype meeting on January 9, and a 90-minute dinner meeting at Lotsa Pizza on January 25 to finalize plans for the upcoming Spring semester.
We begin the Spring semester with 38 returning collegiate members after graduating two members in the December 2017 Commencement (Jordan Dunn and Yuval Elkun). Our Recruitment Committee is actively engaged in delivering an exceptional series of events for recruitment this Spring, which begins on January 29 and ends on February 8. Initiation is scheduled on Sunday, February 11. In addition, 14 members of our chapter and Chapter Adviser will be attending a regional leadership school with over 200 members from over 20 other chapters on February 9 and 10, held on the campus of West Chester University in West Chester, PA.
We pride ourselves on being an integral part of both the University of Maryland community as well as the surrounding College Park community. Here at the Maryland Beta chapter, we emphasize academic success and community service to all of our members, as we hold all members to the standard of a True Gentleman. There are many great efforts going on at Maryland Beta and the future is bright. If you are interested in learning more or joining the Maryland Beta chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, feel free to email me at Austin Gray (click to e-mail) to learn about our year-long recruitment process and our upcoming recruitment events. We also welcome and urge any and all alumni to make time to join us at our weekly chapter meetings. All of our collegiate members always enjoy having alumni visit, and learning how to better the chapter from alumni. For those who are in the area, our doors are always open to collegiate brothers and alumni alike who would like to join us.
